I still feel you. A slow oud ballad for a night alone: her perfume still in his clothes, her shadow at the door, a glass left where she put it and the coffee gone cold — «باقي نحسّك، ونمدّ يدّي» — he reaches out and wakes up by himself. Voice and oud open the song, the violin answers in the second verse, and the last words are whispered: don't wake me, only in my dream can I find her. اللّيلة ليلتنا
Tonight is our night. A Tunisian wedding song: the family fills the house, the bendir comes out, the zaghareet answer every chorus — «اللّيلة ليلتنا، زيدي معايا» — and the promise underneath the party is the quiet one: coffee and tea tomorrow, growing old together, patience when the day is hard. Gasba answered by violin over a fezzani groove, with a Raï-Phonk kick underneath. Written and performed by Mourad Youssef Bouajaja.

يا منايا
O my desire. A classical qasida in Maqam Sikah, sung the old Damascene way: a free mawwal opens it, then a takht of oud, qanun, violin, cello, ney, riq and darbuka moves unhurried under the verses. A shadow passes the curtain, the oud confesses what the heart hid — «باح عودي بأسراري». Written and performed by Mourad Youssef Bouajaja.
